Swift lies exposed
ABC News: What Happened in Kerry's Vietnam Battles?
ABC news went to where the controversial Kerry medal-winning action took place and talked to the Vietnam villagers, including a Viet Cong leader. The bottom line? The Viet Cong confirm Kerry's account. They were there in force and there was heavy fighting. The man who Kerry apparently killed - no Viet Cong saw this specific act - was not some lone kid in loin cloth as described by the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth. Quite the contrary, he was a Viet Cong in black pajamas (standard uniform) , had a rocket launcher, was remebered as especially strong and was about 26 or 27 years old.
Read the ABC story. Sure sounds to me like these Swift Boat Truth tellers are just the opposite. I would like to give them the benefit of the doubt and just attribute it to the confusion of war, but there's a curious part of this story that seems to indicate they were in Vietnam six months ago at the same village and found out that Kerry's version was the truth. If so, they are not mistaken, they are simple - an disgusting - liars. Or as Josh Marshall put it in his blog recently:
. . .as slimy and cynical as you might have imagined the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth to be, they end up being even more shameless than you might have thought.
Exposed again as hacks, liars, puppets.
But then who escapes Rove with his soul in his own hands?
George Bush should ponder that question - especiallyas one who seems to value his soul.
