The O'Reily factor - the whole truth?

The Smoking Gun: Archive

The darling of the hard-nosed right wingers makes Bill Clinton look like an altar boy if the sexual harrassment charges brought against him in a suit are accurate.

The media are walking gently around the charges, not giving specifics - you know, like they did with Clinton - but if you go to the link above you can get the whole story. That link points to a section of the text of the law suit where it starts to get concrete. It is downright unnerving to read. But you need to read several pages to get the context and get a feel for what tis is. Sexual harrassment suits can sometimes sound light pretty light weight stuff. This isn't. When you see the context - you see the specifics - you can understand why this story is significant.

O'Reilly, of course, is on the attack, The goal with these folks is to always be the victim and put up a brave fight. (Witness Rush Limbaugh and his drug problems.) But interestingly enough, O"Reilly apparently is not denying the charges. Just filing a countersuit claiming extortion. NBC News reported that they believe there is a tape of some of O'Reilly's attempts at phone sex and so that's why he isn;' denying this stuff.

Of course this has a long way to go. Like the suits against Michael Jackson and other famous people, there is always the chance that someone is just trying to frame them. And, of course, this has all sorts of political overtones. But read the specifics in the suit and see how you feel.

My reaction was that this guy is either being framed by a real pro, or he is the biggest, hypocritical scumbag to ever hit the airwaves.
