Oh give me abreak!

Let's see - tonight we'll get a PR film on John Kerry - an introduction of who he is. And guess what - among the clips are some 8 mm stuff he shot in Vietnam.

So... according to Wolf Blitzer Republicans are already complaining that he shot this film in Vietnam in anticipation of a future political career. That -as Bren says - is pathetic. If you look at the film, you will see that the Kerry family obviously took a lot of 8mm home movies as did many, many families in that era. And people going off to war frequently took cameras because war was - and is - simply the most momentous thing they are likely to do in their life. (There's a scene in "Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo," the WWII era film, where one of the airplane crew members is shooting personal 8 mm movies - ormaybe its stills. Anyway, it was hardly unheard of.

But yeah - Kerry - over in Vietnam with his ass on the line was thinking - "boy, someday I can use these clips when I run for president four decades from now."
