Allawi Shot Inmates in Cold Blood, Say Witnesses
This story is obviously disturnbing for the simple reason that it says we traded Hussein for someone who can be just as brutal. I find the story believable:
1. Because a very credible newspaper is involved - the Sydney Norming Herald.
2. Because everything bad that we've heard about Iraq has proved to be true,
So yes, I'm cynical. What we want to claim is an experiment in democracy may, indeed, be simply a return to civil war which will be resolved simply by whomever can prove to be themost brutal.
Most diusturbing - where is the American press? Have any of our papers picked up this story? Tv? Or are we really right where we have been weith the press playing essentially a cheerleading role?
