. . . and where is the outrage?!
Op-Ed Columnist: Where’s the Apology?
OK, Paul Krugman's outraged - but I guess most of the American news media and people seem to think it's an impeachable offense to lie about having sex, but no problem if all your lies do is:
1. ruin our country's name and honor
2. waste $100 billion dollars or so
3. get 500-plus Americans killed, and
4. kill 10,000-or-so innocent Iraqi men, women and children.
But these so-called "conservatives" have no sense of honor and no sense of responsibility and no shame. The president makes ludicrous comments that completely rewrite history and hardly anyone calls him on it. Ah well, there is Mr. Krugman. I particularly liked this paragraph from his latest column:
Posted by Greg Stone at January 30, 2004 02:18 AMIn any case, the point is that a grave mistake was made, and America's credibility has been badly damaged ï¿ and nobody is being held accountable. But that's standard operating procedure. As far as I can tell, nobody in the Bush administration has ever paid a price for being wrong. Instead, people are severely punished for telling inconvenient truths.
