The importance of pride
Op-Ed Columnist: The Humiliation Factor
Friedman is making sense here - there's only one thing wrong. The man int he White House has too much pride to listen to anyone, even a columnist who has given him quite abit of support in the past.
What I especially like is he is giving recognition the the significance of the speech by Mahathir Mohamad - a speech that unfortunately upstaged itself in the Western press because of the anti-semetic references it contained. Look beyond those references and you will find, as Friedman does, some very significant things that needed to be said and heard by Muslims and others.
