Israeli, Palestinian activists gather to launch unofficial peace accord
As usual, people make sense - political leaders make war. There is some real hope, however, that this effort will open some eyes. I liked these two statements form two of the leaders:
"It is unlikely that we shall ever see a better foundation for peace," said Carter, after receiving a standing ovation from a packed Geneva conference hall. "The people support it. Political leaders are the obstacle to peace."
and . . .
Actor Richard Dreyfuss, master of ceremonies at the event, said that "peace is far too serious to be left exclusively to governments."
If only we had a real president with some real guts instead of that silly littled cowboy who likes to dress up and play soldier ;-(
