I was impressed! This guy knew what he was doing, enjoyed his work, and was a pleasure to deal with, so taking down a large tree whose dead limbs hung over our sunroom like the sword of Damocles was a pleasure.I simply picked Levesque's Tree Service out of the phone directory and was lucky. The guy showed up when he said he would, gave me a reasonable estimate, said he would not be able to do the job until the second week in July, and right on schedule was here to do it. His biggest challenge was getting his bucket, on a 65-foot arm, into position to reach the tree. Our front yard and driveway are small and there were only inches to spare as he maneuvered the truck into position. Then he had to put up the arm that held the bucket, go over some wires just in front of the truck, maneuver around other trees, go over the sunroom, and from his perch in the bucket saw off manageable pieces and throw them to the ground away from the sunroom. Whew! Just writing that sentence was tiring ;-) But it was fun to watch him work and best of all he did it efficiently, with care and good cheer. healso did it while hold a large chain saw in one arm, a branch in the other, and leaning out of the bucket! Everything went into a chipper, he trimmed some branches off the dogwood that were dangling against the house, and promised to be back in the winter to deal with other tree problems. Meanwhile, we still have plenty of shade for the sunroom and, of course, any nearby trees remain a threat if we ever get a hurricane. But at least we've reduced significantly the threat of the next routine thunderstorm sending a dead limb crashing through the roof. |
There are six photos in the slide show below. When you get to the last one - a guy carrying off a large log - hit the "previous" button. It doesn't cycle around to the start.
