Your view?
Did you witness Hurricane Carol in 1954? Tell me about it! And if you have a picture you're willing to share, that's all the better. I'd love to hear from you and I'll add what you have to say to our "Your View" pages. What's more, Charles Orloff is doing a
commemorative book on Carol for Blue Hill Observatory and would love to hear from you as well. So if you have something to share, please:
Send me email, Greg Stone Or send email to Charles Orloff at Blue Hill Observatory. Or send a single email to us both at once.

BostonBoston Just a thank-you for your site. I was in Hurricane Carol when it was downgraded to a tropical storm. It was Boston and I was 3 1/2 years old. What I remember of it was, of course, that it was named the same as I and one other image only. My mother held my hand as we walked down our street. All was very quiet that morning, no power, no sounds except nature, and the tarmac was littered with debris. I remember being told to watch where I stepped because power lines were across the road. Tree branches were everywhere and I was fascinated with how different it all was. There was such a sense of peace as if we were being returned to something more natural. That's all I remember but it has always been a vivid picture in my mind. Sorry I have no photos to add to your site/collection. Thanks for connecting me with a bit of my past. Blessings, |
