Your view?
Did you witness Hurricane Carol in 1954? Tell me about it! And if you have a picture you're willing to share, that's all the better. I'd love to hear from you and I'll add what you have to say to our "Your View" pages. What's more, Charles Orloff is doing a
commemorative book on Carol for Blue Hill Observatory and would love to hear from you as well. So if you have something to share, please:
Send me email, Greg Stone Or send email to Charles Orloff at Blue Hill Observatory. Or send a single email to us both at once.

At sea, Atlantic OceanJust discovered your website on Carol. I was a Ltjg and the Asst. Engineering Officer on the USS Howard W Gilmore AS-16. We delivered ComSubLant to New London, Conn. for an important meeting as the storm bore down on our area. The only water deep enough for us to ride out the storm was the area that the storm was coming from; so we headed out to sea straight into the storm, going through the front quadrant, through the eye, and out the back side. Took us a little over four hours as I recall. I still remember many details like it was yesterday. Maybe I should write a book! Really enjoyed your pctures and comments. Best regards!
