Weather Underground: Tropical Storm: Storm-Centered Satellite Image

Everyone is focusing on Hurricane Carol right now - the big hit on southern New England 50 years ago. Because of my web site I've been contacted by three papers, a Providence television station, and a town library group wanting me to give an illustrated talk. All good fun. But the real news could be Hurricane Frances which is huge well-organized, growing, and heading for the US. By this time next week . . . well just look at the forecast projections and satellite image.

Update

Now it seems to be drawing abead on Disney World!

Of course, in the fantasyland of hurricane forecasting anything can still happen - but it sure looks like someone along the Atlantic Coast is really going to take a severe slap from Frances.

Earlier comments

This path shows a storm that could actually hit us about a week from Tuesday or Wednesday. Where it is predicted to be next Saturday is close to where Carol was when it started.

This satellite photo is from Sunday - shows a storm that already has it together.
