Beach swallows and going beyond paperFor a long time I have wanted to try to do something that took more advantage of this medium - or, I should say, this multimedium. Today I took my first small step, combining my experiences at the beach with writing, video, the magic of Photoshop, and a neat little JavaScript written by Robert Bui. The result was something I could not reproduce on paper, but I think works on the screen to convey some special sense of the experience. I don't know Mr. Bui, but I thank him profusely not only for writing this script, but documenting it so that even I could discover how to change it from a random image generator to something that generates images in the sequence I want. ( For those so incllined, I found his "random image rotator" script here. I also tried about five other scripts from the same source and while they all seemed pretty good, none fit what I envisioned. This one did.) Unfortunately, I dare not include the script on this page for fear of conflicts with the blog engine, so I created a page just for it, as linked above and here - and perhaps it's better that way.
