I believe this was taken at college. In any event, it's mother and friends and captures their spirit at about the time the diary was written. The inset in the upper right shows Sas White, Mom, and another friend whose name i can't make out.

The fun is in the clues

Between them Tom and Don correctly identified the pictures and Don reminded me of cats I had forgotten, except Queer. (He was called that because of his double paws and because some other kid had looked at the litter and said "I don't want that Queer!" That made us love him all the more. . . . No photographs this week - but a real mystery for many of you. I know the answer, of course, but if the rest of you make like the detectives on that new PBS series where they track down and authenticate family heirlooms and documents, well - I hope you can answer these questions.

Today/yesterday - flip/flop

The second picture still has me puzzled, although Tom has set me straight on one thing. That is Betty and Don on the wall – I had always assumed it was Betty and Tom, but now that I look closely and compare it with the other photograph, I’m sure Tom is right. I still don’t know who the kid is on the bicycle.
