Quiz 3: Who, when, where, why?
Ok, those with good memories and sharp eyes should not only figure out who this is, but where the picture was taken, what month and year it was probably taken, and under what special circumstances. Share your thoughts – but before you do, call the youngest generation into the room. See if any of them can figure out who this is. Answers on Monday – but then, I’m sure most of you will get it before then. Keep those comments coming! Oh – and don’t forget to check last week’s to see if there are any comments you missed. And don’t worry if this all seems too easy to you – it will get more difficult. But by then, you should be better at recognizing family traits. Comments
Okay, I'll bite. I'd marry the handsome guy in the tie and blue jacket in a flash. Oh wait! I think I DID marry him. So, my vote is that it's Dan in the blue jacket and the red jacket is on Owings. (Dan - you need a new pair of shoes - there's a big hole in the bottom of the ones you're wearing.) I don't recognize the other kids in the picture, but the two older ones have to be cousins - which ones? The baby is either Catharen or another cousin. I would have guessed Catharen, because of the look on Dan and O's faces, but the timing doesn't seem right. If it's Easter (the baskets point in that direction) and Catharen was born in May, then she'd either be an infant too small to sit up like that, or a year old which this baby is clearly not. So it must be a cousin. I'd peg the year at 1967, give or take a year. I don't have a clue where this is - I'd guess maybe grandfather Owings' house in RI. Karen Posted by: Karen Seiler at July 18, 2003 06:06 PMWell, I'll jump in her with my 2 cents. I'm pretty sure it is Owings, Dan, Lisa, Catharen and Michael. I'd say the baby has to be Catharen because she was the next grandchild. I agree with Karen that the baskets point to Easter but also agree that Catharen looks too young to be almost a year old. So my guess is maybe it is Catharen's Baptism - or maybe it was Easter and she just looks younger in the picture because of the way she is seated. This is Easter at Nana and Pop-pops, in the room to the left of the front door I think, on Mathewson lane? That's Lisa and Michael on either side of the baby. Owings looks older than three to me! But I think it's 1966, and the baby is either Catharen or me. Of course, it could also be Hilary. Catharen is the most likely choice, because if it isn't her, where is she? However, I think the baby looks like me. I don't think she's blonde enough to be Catharen or Hilary or Sarah. If it's '68, then the baby is Sarah, but again, she doesn't really look like Sarah. Maggie Posted by: Maggie at July 18, 2003 11:02 PMI know it is Dan, Owings, Lisa, Michael, and baby ??? The baby is either me or Maggie. Maggie was born in October of 1965, and it must be Easter of 1966. So I think the baby is Margaret, because I had blonder hair at that age. On the other hand, I know I only weighed 17 lbs at one year...and that baby is hanging out of its baby seat.but my final vote is that the baby is Maggie. Post a comment
