Kerry, Bush,Venus and the real world

I haven't forgotten the election - but I have recovered a chunk of my other life, so I am back to being more fascinated with the night sky than the political maneuverings of people. Still, you can find a brief election post mortem here:, And in the real world, I was just stunned by the wonderful arc formed this morning by the crescent moon, Venus and Jupiter. See a photo and brief explanation here. And yes, the war still makes me sick and I feel for all those who are dying because of the rank stupidity of the human race - but then that's the sort of thing that drives some folks to sea and me back to the dark of the night where I look up at all those distant campfires burning brightly in the void and wonder who is sitting around them and whether they are looking back at us - and shaking their heads in disbelief.
